Blog Post #6
Inquiry Based Learning based on the environment that I teach is first, having ideas. I teach art, but I believe this is true for any content. Once you have the idea, then research the idea. Researching the idea then will give you more ideas and information. At this point you take what is useful and put it to work for yourself. In the case of art, a student may be prompted for a project, but I leave a lot of room for interpretation and creativity. Students will take the ideas they come up with and then do some research for inspiration. Once they have more information they will weed out some. At this point they are then going to use the information they found in their artwork. Once they are "finished" (I say it in quotations because when is art truly finished?) the student will assess their work, maybe have me or a peer assess the work. Most of the time, they will go back and redo the process to add or change things before they truly call it finished

Blog Post #5 Growth and mindset
Everyday I am getting a little more familiar with the different applications that we use. Weebly is giving me a hard time. Sometimes I try to do stuff on there and it just doesn't work. I am working on it everyday trying to figure out the tricks to working on it. Twitter is also something that gives me a hard time, but it is only because I have never been a fan of that particular social media application and so using it doesn't cross my mind.
As for my last goal of learning new ways of gathering information, it is coming along. I still use google, and I am working with some of the tools that have been introduced to me during this class. I am also working on using more effective search keywords. I am branching out to use other resources. I now use Galileo for my own searching, as well as starting inside websites that I know may help in my ventures.
Growth mindset is how I am trying to embrace. I know that it will take time, but I will get it eventually. If I keep working every day to learn and navigate the things that I am having trouble with.
